Here is the family devotion from this Sunday’s lesson on the conversion of Saul. God transformed a persecutor into His choice messenger to the Gentiles. It was no accident that God chose a man who, among other qualities, had both Jewish and Gentile relationships. Paul was a Jew by birth but a Gentile by citizenship. He was the ideal man to proclaim that, in Christ, there is no difference between Jew and Gentile. Students should know that God desires to work through people, no matter what they might have done if only they surrender to Him.

“Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, “Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?” And he said, “Who are You, Lord?” Then the Lord said, “I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting. It is hard for you to kick against the goads.” So he, trembling and astonished, said, “Lord, what do You want me to do?” Then the Lord said to him, “Arise and go into the city, and you will be told what you must do.””

Acts 9:4-6
